School Holiday Stamping Session

Today my big boy turns 7 years old! Oh Boy! What will he be like when he is 17? arrrggghhhh

A few friends are joining Laurenz for a birthday sleepover (keep telling him it’s not a party but it’s not sinking in!) SO yes there will be icecream cake, and yes there will be goodie trays for the kids to munch from when they are watching movies!

On Sunday Kyan, Laurenz and I settled in to stamp us some goodie trays using the Pirates Beware set:

I find a turntable really helps when stamping with the boys!

Laurenz is very precise – for him it’s all about the patterns!

Kyan is a little more “suck it and see”,

So pleased with himself!

Laurenz takes so much care!

Looks like a fun afternoon doesn’t it? Laurenz went on to score and cut most of the box templates for me – he really is very good at craft!!!! Kyan attempted the sticky strip but it was a disaster!

Check back for the finished goodie trays in the next post – just need to put some finishing touches to them!

Until later!

Beware Pirates it’s a Birthday Weekend!

Hi Girls,

Today both my boys were lucky enough to be invited to birthday parties, so Marius took Kyan to his and I accompanied Laurenz to my good friend Trisha’s place to celebrate the 7th birthday of her oldest, Rhyan.  Now Rhyan is dear to my heart as I have known him since he was 6 weeks old (give or take) and boy was he a little baby being premature – but to look at him know with long 7 year old running legs, you’d never know!

Now you are probably asking yourself what could this possibly have to do with stamping? The birthday cards of course! I have recently purchased the Beware Pirates Stampset and I’ve got to tell you it is soooo much fun to stamp with!  My colour scheme started with a really fun Pirate wrapping paper I found in Big W, and I could instantly see that it would tone with my favourite retired colour – Kiwi Kiss (or Old Olive if you have that one), Tangerine Tango and Tempting Turquoise with of course Black and White…

I started with creating my own DSP by stamping the images in different colours randomly over the Whisper White mat:

and then stamped the central image with versamark and embossed with Black Embossing Powder and a heat gun.

And of course stamped inside:

and let’s not forget the envelope!

Such a versatile stampset for boys of all ages – I will be sure to post the special card I’ve made for Laurenz’s upcoming birthday in all together different colour scheme and style.

Thanks for stopping by!
