Cute Ideas for Wrapping Kids Pressies

I have had such a busy crafting week making boxes and matching cards etc for two wee ones who have turned 1 year old recently…

First up is my dear friend’s daughter Natalie who turned 1 a few weeks ago and I was unable to make the birthday party…

These boxes are created witha 12×12 sheet for the lid and 12×12 sheet for the base, using the simple method of scoring First 5cm in on each side for the lid and then 4.8cm for the base so that it is slightly smaller and sits inside.  The basic idea comes from this box template from Artee Supplies – I’ve just adapted the size

For this box I’ve used the lovely Rose Red from SU and rolled my Very Vintage wheel across in versamark ink for a subtle pattern.  Pretty in Pink DSP from the hostess pack of DSP made the perfect contrast for my scallop flower which I have stacked with 10 scallops (yes 10!) I’ve learnt this trick from a fellow demonstrator over East who also suggested I slice into each scallop for extra shape AND IT WORKS!

The label for the box is half a whisper white topnote with Happy Birthday from Outlined for fun stampset, stamped in Rich Razzleberry and watercoloured with Pretty in Pink and my Aqua Painter.  Pink Pirouhette Grosgrain and an embellishment from my hodgepodge hardware finishes the look…

And as you can see there is plenty of room inside for these cute penguin PJ’s and Dora Colouring in Pencils – tied in Rich Razzleberry Polkadot Grosgrain ribbon.

And for Natalie’s card I have started with a base of Rose Red, Elegant Eggplant strip punched with my Eyelet border punch, and a lovely big bloom from my Playful Petals whcih I have coloured with inks and my Blender Pens – Rich Razzleberry, elegant Egglplant and Opulent Orchid, with a healthy dose of glitter glue to boot!

And of course the Polkadot embossing folder and my Big Shot are responsible for this great texture – it really makes something special out of a VERY clean layout!

And now a blue version for Alexandar whose 1st birthday we are attending tomorrow morning…

I’ve made a similar box for Alexandar using the colours Ballet Blue, Pacific Point DSP and ink, Night of Navy, Tempting Turquoise and Baja Breeze…

The stamp set I’ve used is one of the new ones from the Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue called Fox and Friends – I chose the clear mount version of this set and my kids LOVE stamping with these cute animals – and what’s better, there is no mess as the acrylic blocks clean right off!

The little Night of Navy “brads” on my tags are actually just circles created with my hole punch out of Night of Navy Scraps!  Can you see the Classic Stars on the box? These have been rolled on with my wheel and versamark…

And the contents of the box? Yep jarmies and pencils again! And for a close up of the gift tag attached to the box:

And for Alexandar’s card, I’ve followed the same basic layout as Natalie’s card above:

Now after I photographed this one I added three mini love hearts under the Strip of Pacific Point DSP which finished it off nicely…

It’s probably a good time to mention that all the birthday sentiments are from my new fave stamp set On Your Birthday there are so many different ways to say HB in this set as you can see even from this collection of projects!

I hope this has inspired you to gift wrap your next birthday present – it give such a sense of satisfaction and the matching card is just the perfect finish to such a personal gift.

Thanks for stopping by!

Raising Kindness to an Art!

Hi girlies!

Last night my lovely Upline and Stamping Friend Michelle Scott came over for a wee few hours of stamping and chatting and we had a great time!  We basically swapped and played with products that each of us didnt actually have ourselves.. Mich went home with a bunch of top notes and I was left with pages of Vintage Vogue flowers! haha

I couldn’t resist creating straight away with Vintage Vogue as I have the Very vintage Wheel but hadn’t stretched my investment to the actual stamp set! Oh Joy this is what I whipped up during our stamping session last night…

I love this colour combo of Close to Cocoa, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip and Soft Suede.  The DSP is from the delightful Cottage Wall papers  – do you like? A closer look at the flowers might reveal that I actually used the rock and roll technique first stamping in soft suede and rolling the edges in Chocolate Chip:

My stampajig helped me place the border stamp at the bottom and the sentiment stamp perfectly (love that tool!!!)…

Then I moved on to my favourite card shape of the moment – The Gate Card.  I scalloped the inside edge and turned back the “collar” of this one.  Inserted a DSP sheet inside, stamped another lovely flower vine from Vintage Vogue on the front, and then moved to my BigShot table.

With my Bigshot, I cut out a set of the Buttons and used three of them to stack together and create the button embellishment on the bottom… Then I grabbed my Thanks embosslit and created my sentiment feature at the top with the reverse side of the same sheet of DSP.  Here is a closer look at the sentiment:

Its really subtle in this pic but so sweet in real life! Dont you love the polkadot Grosgrain in Soft Suede?

As you can see I had a great time swapping stories, tips and products with Michelle last night (thanks Mich!!!) and I am sure she liked the stamped card that my eldest Laurenz made for her at his stamping table too!

Thanks for stopping by guys, and if you would like to join our team of stampers, don’t forget that the starter kit is a wopping 20% 0ff at the moment (just $259) - give me a call if you’d like to know more about becoming a demonstrator, or just fancy making a little extra money to feed your craft addiction (er hobby)

And More Mother’s Day!

As promised, here is the Candle Wrap and matching card I created for Mum this Mother’s Day… I hope she likes handmade craft (she doesn’t have much choice!)

Similar to my previous Vintage Candle Wrap, I’ve started with Creamy Caramel Base Cardstock, rolled with Soft Suede Ink and my Very Vintage Stampin Around Wheel (love it!).  The mid strip of card is Kraft stamped with Playful Petals and swished with my Aqua Painter (Water only to distress the image).

I’ve punched a heart with the Full Heart Punch and embossed it with my Polkadot Embossing Folder and Big Shot.  “Mum” is die cut again using the Big Shot and my Junior Timeless Alphabet set.  Both are in Bravo Burgundy Cardstock.  The Flower and Ribbon are Non-SU – the flowers have been coloured using my Stampin’ Pastels and applicator.

And for my Card:

Kraft Cardstock, Rich Razzleberry Ink – and Raspberry Tart DSP blend beautifully to create this colour scheme.  I love using my Wonderful Favourites sentiment stampset – perfect here with “Mother” punched on a Word Window on Kiwi Kiss.

I’ve inked up my Paper Flower with Rich Razzleberry just by laying it onto the stampad and pressing lightly onto each petal.  The Button is part of the symbol set that comes with the Junior Timeless Alphabet Die Set.  I’ve used Bravo Burgundy Cardstock for this hightlight.

Don’t you love stamping the envelope as the last touch to a creation?

Thanks for stopping by! Hope to see you soon…

So Many New Things!

Hi Girls!

I have so many new things to show you that I am resulting to bullet point to organise this blog!!!! I haven’t blogged for a while so I’ve built up quite a little backlog of projects I’d like to share with you!

  • More Autumn Harvest Cards, Candle Wraps and Scrapbooking
  • Dazzle You with Razzleberry
  • Lots of Bots Party Cards, Gift Box or Birthday Favour Box

So to get started… Here is my favourite of the Autumn Harvest Candle Wraps I have created…

and I am hoping My Mum doesn’t check out this post – here is the Mother’s Day card I have made for her…

 And another Autumn Harvest Card:

And a Scrapbook Page:

I love the layering effect of all of these fabulous coordinating papers… Am I ever going to tire of this colour palette? I just love it so much!

General Project Recipe

Autumn Harvest DSP, Soft Suede and Eggplant Card with other Earth Elements Colours, Ink – Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede, Elegant Eggplant, Ruby Red, Old Olive, Kiwi Kiss, Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie (Watercoloured Images), Stampsets- Embrace Life, Autumn Flair Hostess Sets, Wonderful Favourites, Big Shot – Polkadot Embossing Folder, Buttons Sizzlit, Timeless Junior Alphabet, Ribbon and Embellishments – Soft Suede Polkadot Grosgrain, Linen Thread

And Now for those of you who haven’t been introduced to the dazzling properties of our Rich Razzleberry Colour…

This basket is so easy to make and is adapted from a basic one square favour box I have used for the Lots of Bots Party Favour coming up so keep scrolling if you are interested to find out the details…

Isn’t this THANKS Embosslit just gorgeous? Again using my baby Big Shot…

This card features the beautiful new Very Vintage Stampin Around Wheel from the AWM - I’ve rolled onto Opulent Orchid in Razzleberry Ink.  For the flower I have rolled onto Kraft and one layer of Opulent Orchid to create the coordinated feel.  Then I have stamped the large bloom from the Embrace Life stamp set to make the Kraft “DSP”.  Don’t these colours look great together?

And using my Embrace Life Stamp set (I find this goes really well with the vintage feel):

For this one, my friend sentiment is from the Simply Said stampset and I find it SOOOOOO true… I also really lovel the whimsical font of this sentiment…

And now for our beautiful new MELON MAMBO:

Combined here with the Pony Party  stampset – HOW CUTE IS THIS??? Oh to have given birth to some pink ones…(sigh)

This stamp set gives you the ability to build your own scene – a party pony, unicorn etc and it has lovely little accent stamps like the grass, flowers, butterflies, clouds, stars etc – it really is great fun and a must for birthday cards for little girls!!!  Ive created a really simple favour box here for a birthday party – a basic grid with each corner square cut out – if you are interested, just let me know and I can post the template for you.

The button you can see and the base card colour is our beautiful new Melon Mambo – it woul dlook even cuter with the matching melon polkadot but i had to settle with the Rich Razzleberry – still looks great though!

And more Melon Mambo for a cut Baby Card using my Two Step Bird Punch:

I’ve used the sentiment from the Best Yet Hostess Stampset – I rarely stamp without it these days!

OK – next my favourite Boys stamp of the moment – Lots of Bots:

I have created a Birthday card and Gift Box, as well as a smaller Party favour Box – I plan on using this for Laurenz’s 6th birthdya coming up and my invitation will feature the Robot stamp too – just need to order the Please come  invite stamp set so keep your eyes out for that post!

Entire Set

My colour scheme is Yoyo Yellow, Tangerine tango and Taken with Teal.  I have used Stampin Pastels and Blender Pens to colour my images.

Gift Box – this uses an entire piece of 12×12 card

Smaller Party Favour Box – this is created from a 21cm x 21cm square (cut from A4)

Birthday Card 1

Square Gift Card

Now did I mention that these are my first foray into Clear Mount Stamps? I only needed 4 small acrylic block sizes for this stampset and beauty is that every stamp set I purchase from now on will cost less as I have already invested in these acrylic blocks!

The little nuts and bolts are a small stamp which I have repeat stamped turning slightly each time and it looks like a wheel doesnt it? I love it!

Now are you ready to see how easy it is to make these boxes?

This is not a printable template – just an indication for measurements and cut lines.  One you have scored your grid and cut along the 4 cutlines, you can fold it all the way up for a square box, or fold it to your desired angle and secure with a staple for an angled favour box like I have made.  A great tip for quick results with the least “fuss” is to angle the sides and place your handle on the inside – securing all with one staple per side – yes just one staple holds each side and the handle together!!!!

I am going to be conducting a workshop for birthday favours in May at my lovely friend Trishy’s house.  If you and your friends would like to learn how to make these favour boxes, why not book your own workshop? Just email stampingelegance@live.com.

Gosh that was quite a parade of projects wasn’t it? I will be back next week with a feature on the Fox and Friends Clear Mount stampset – so be sure to pop back then!

Happy Anzac Day Long Weekend!
